Leadership and Staff

Marshall Henderson is originally from Cleveland, MS, a small town in an area known as the Mississippi Delta, famous for agriculture and being the birthplace of the blues. He is a graduate of Delta State University where he spent four years as a “Fighting Okra” and received his B.A. in psychology. He is also a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) with a M.Div. in Christian Thought (2011) and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) with a D.Min. in Applied Theology (2020).

In 2008 Marshall married Jill-Curry Smith who was his best friend all throughout their school years. They have 10 children—Matthew, Myles, Smith, Eleanor, Roscoe, Elliot, George, Oliver, Jack, and August.

During his sophomore year of college, God called Marshall to vocational gospel ministry. Marshall has served as the Associate/Student Pastor at Morrison Chapel Baptist Church (Cleveland, MS) as well as a Church Ministry Resident (2013), Discipleship Leader (2014), and Generations Director (2015) at Vintage Church (New Orleans, LA).

Marshall served as the Student Minister of FBC from 2015-2019, and began serving as FBC’s Pastor starting in January 2020.

Marshall is passionate about teaching the gospel of Jesus and leading others to see how the gospel of grace shapes every dimension of their lives. His family is passionate about foster care and adoption, and leading the church to care for orphans.

Marshall enjoys spending time with his family, drinking coffee, reading, traveling, and watching sports in his free time.

Roger Walworth grew up in Fort Payne. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He is also a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary earning the Master of Church Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees.

He has served at FBC since 2005. Previously he served as Chair of the Fine and Performing Arts Division at Judson College from 1994-2006. He has extensive experience as a music teacher in public and private schools and as a church musician.  His college and student choirs have toured extensively throughout the southern United States and 9 concert tours to the British Isles presenting concerts in such noted venues as Ely Cathedral, York Minster Cathedral, Coventry Cathedral, and Canterbury Cathedral.  In 2005 his Judson College choir sang a solo concert at Carnegie Hall, New York City, New York.  This was their second time to perform at Carnegie Hall having presented their debut recital in 2003. He is an active member of the Alabama Singing Men, having served as their President.

He has been married to Myla since 1984, and they have two children, Andrew and Ashlee, and three grandchildren, Wally, Maddie, and Lincoln.

Roger is passionate about music and music education. He loves to use music to teach the deep truths of scripture and faith to children, students, and adults. He also loves music for worship and the ever-expanding song of the church.

Roger enjoys spending time with family and his German Shepherds as well as traveling, sports, and a warm fire pit.

Bailee Bounds is originally from Petal, a small town in south Mississippi. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.A. in History and is currently enrolled at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing an M.A. in Christian Education.

Ever since she could remember, her family was involved in the local church. Her knowledge of God developed through going to Sunday school, VBS, and youth group from a very young age. Instead of embracing the gift of salvation, she strived to live perfectly to earn God’s favor and love. In His loving mercy, the Lord continually pursued her to reveal her sin and her need for Him. Bailee fully surrendered her heart to Christ at the age of 15. In ministry, she has enjoyed seeing people grow and come to know Christ.

Bailee is passionate about seeing kids come to know Christ and see how the Lord is working through them from infancy to youth. She is also passionate about discipling and equipping children to be mature followers of Jesus and walking alongside families in the process.

Bailee enjoys spending time with family, reading, playing pickleball, and traveling.

Noah Moon grew up just south of Fort Payne in Albertville, Alabama, where he graduated from Albertville High School in 2019. During his time in Auburn, Alabama, he met his wonderful wife Tristian, who is originally from Scottsboro, Alabama. In 2023 Noah graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Creative Writing.

Originally a chemical engineering student at Auburn University, during the COVID-19 pandemic Noah surrendered to God’s call into pastoral ministry, changing his undergraduate degree and transitioning from a path to medical school and onto a path to seminary. While a student at Auburn, Noah pastored Waverly First Baptist Church in Waverly, Alabama. After graduation, Noah returned to Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn, where he had been a member as a college student, to take part in a pastoral residency program. In this internship, Noah gained critical pastoral experience through working with the staff at Lakeview. He completed this internship in May 2026, and is now enrolled as a Master of Divinity student at Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary.

Noah is incredibly excited about the opportunity to serve the students and families of First Baptist Church Fort Payne. Through his teaching and discipleship to students, Noah desires to boldly display Jesus as not only our source of eternal hope and salvation, but also our present joy and happiness, as we seek to live faithful Christian lives in a culture opposed to the message of the Gospel and the person of our Lord. Through this message, Noah hopes to see the students and families of FBC grow in their love for Christ and their bold witness of faith to others.

In all areas, all stages, and all situations of life, it is Noah’s prayer that we are able to always say of our Savior that “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Ps 16:11)!

Debra Story grew up in Fort Payne. She is a graduate of the University of Mobile with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

During Debra’s senior year of high school, she felt God calling her to mission work. Although she did not know what that would look like at the time, she went on to get her nursing degree with the hope of being able to use it on the mission field one day. After graduating college, Debra worked as a nurse in the hospital to gain experience, first in Mobile, AL and then in Nashville, TN. While living in Nashville, she began to sense the Holy Spirit leading her to take steps toward serving overseas. In 2022, sent by her church and serving with the International Mission Board (IMB), Debra moved to Tanzania, Africa. She lived there for three years, where she was able to use her nursing skills to care for people physically while also sharing the gospel and love of Jesus Christ. She also had the opportunity to help with children’s ministry, discipleship, and helping build up healthy churches. Since returning to the States in 2025, the Lord has led Debra to this role at FBC where she is grateful for the opportunity to love, serve, and grow with the FBC church family.

Debra’s prayer is that we would be guided by the gospel, to love God wholeheartedly, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to equip and send believers to make disciples of Jesus Christ in our community and to the nations!

Debra enjoys spending time with her family, the outdoors, traveling, drinking coffee with friends, and watching sports.

Lillie is married to Cody Wilbanks. Between the two of them they have 3 sons. Matthew, Jeremiah and Joseph. Lillie has worked in the medical field for the past 18 years and is thoroughly enjoying that the Lord has led her to FBCFP in this career change. Lillie and her family attend Fyffe Church of God and are active in many roles. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, playing pickleball, baking sweet treats, and spending time with her family; whether it’s going on vacation trips or simple movie nights at home together.

Lillie’s favorite scripture is 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.
